Therapia was established as a Reflexology Service by Mary Mcphillips in 1995. Originally working from premises in Gourock's Kempock Street, Mary moved her practice to it's current location in the town's Shore Street in 2011. Initially providing Reflexology to many who continue to benefit from the treatment today, Mary proved to be a popular therapist, gaining respect and admiration for her skill, compassion and integrity. Mary expanded her business in the new premises by inviting varied therapists to create a successful complementary therapy practice and developing unique programmes of individual and groupwork experiences for children.
In 2012 Mary launched the well respected Therapia School of Reflexology where she shared her wealth of experience and knowledge as a Reflexologist and Scientist. The respected Bayly method of Reflexology was taught on the Diploma course accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists, allowing membership with the British Reflexology Association. In October 2020 Mary passed the school to Judy Leslie-Carter, a former student.
